Day #4

Its Day #4. And, so much has already happened. I found an apartment. My first day at work. And, already onto my first project.

I'm going to be in Pune all of next week taking videos of children talking about their teachers and saying fuzzy things about why they love them. A nice suprise for this bunch of young adults trying to bring about a change in all of thier lives.

When you think about it. The teaching profession is such a thankless job. You teach a batch of students, and then they leave. And, you have to do it all over again. Every year. And maybe sometimes the satisfaction of making a child see how to add, or understand a concept is not enough. Sometimes they need affirmation. Maybe we should all go back and say thank you. To that one teacher who really believed in us when we didn't have the foresight to see what we could be. What we were capable of.

I digress.

Mumbai used to be drenched in Z_ Its funny how enough time can make the most intense aches become just a dull throb, or an involuntary sigh. And now the old memories are replaced by new ones, Honeycombs now belong to B_, not Z_.

As much as I thought that this new city would be drenched in the old, I was merely just being shortsighted. This city is getting newer by the minute. Every new person that I meet, every new memory that I create was never there before. I'm reinventing Mumbai. I'm making it mine.

I've set out to conquer myself. Become me again. The new c-iti. And, so the adventure begins...

...the beginning is the end is the beginning is the end..
